hey, im from Australia, and i was talking on the internet to some guy from america. anyway i got curious from some of the stuff he said, about how your music programs work.
Here we have normal class room music were we study score and different styles of music. but out of class time (before and after school) we have rehersal for Big band, concert band or choir or what ever. Is that basically the same thing for you in america? or is band rehersal like a class in its self?
how many, average, are in school music programs?
Also what difficulty is the music for band?

Well, in my band, we have concert band rehearsal during class every day. We stay after school on Tuesdays for jazz ensemble & the small ensembles also practice after school. There are around 100 people in my high school band, but it varies around here really. I think the music we play is about meduim-difficult..

oh cool, Our Music Program is Huge, 300 people. Unless we have a huge competition coming up we never practice during school time which sucks. The seniour ensemble, practice twice a week each. both before and after school. so i have 6 practices a week.
